	Zipper Structure and Components

LCB zippers consist of the following components:

I. Fabric

The tape and cords make up the fabric parts of the zipper. The tape is woven with the cords along each edge of the tape. The cords provide the strong foundation for the chain, and other components to be attached. Zipper tape is composed of both Warp and Filler threads which run lengthwise and crosswise respectively. LCB offers various kinds of zipper fabric but mainly:

1.	All cotton tape
	Warp threads-cotton. Filler threads-cotton

2.	Polyester tape
	Warp threads-polyester. Filler threads-polyester

Synthetic tapes are less subject to shrinkage and we widely used by modern garments. LCB offers a great variety of inter-blend and polyester tapes of different styles and colors to match with the industry's demand.

II. Chain components

LCB manufactures three types of chain components that are attached to the tape and cord. They are metal scoops, plastic moulded scoops and nylon or polyester coils:

1.	Metal scoops
	Available in sizes no.3, no.4 no.5, no.7, no.8 and no.10.

2.	Plastic moulded scoops
	Available in sizes no.3, no.5, no.8 and no.10.

3.	Polyester coil (Spiral coil)
	Available in sizes no.3, no.4, no.5, no.8 and no.10. Ideal for trousers, skirts, lightweight garments and footwear. This type of chain is capable of self-healing after removal of material inadvertently meshed by zipping.

III. Zipper chains

When components are attached to fabric and joined together, we call them chain.
