The purpose of the top stops is to prevent the slider from being pulled off the top of the zipper. LCB manufactures two basic top stops- Universal and Concealed top stops.
1.
Universal
This is the most common top stop. Most regular zippers require one Universal top stop only. Separating styles require two top stops. The Universal top stop does not disappear into the slider.
2.
Concealed
This type of top stop has a flat surface that disappears into the slider body once the slider is pulled against the stops. Two concealed stops are usually attached to each zipper.
VI. Bottom stop
The bottom stop is a metal component at the bottom end of the zipper to prevent the slider from falling off at the lower end. Bottom stops also determined the lateral strength of the zipper.
